Our son was in an addiction treatment center that began to experience major staff and program changes just prior to his entrance into their more independent phase.  Although he had done well, we all agreed that this transition needed to be facilitated through a stable, professional, competent, and caring medium. Novus provided this and so much more.   

From the initial contact with Novus, my husband and I experienced genuine compassionate support that has always left us feeling as though we were their only clients.  Novus expertly guided us in setting boundaries with our son, helped normalize relapse, and coached us on how to be effective parents of an adult son. All of this was done with immense consideration for the needs of each individual as well as those of my husband and me as a parental team.  We have come through this process confident that our son is learning what it means to be a responsible adult able to navigate through his own choices. We also feel that we can triumph over future challenges by continuing to employ the invaluable tools that we were given.

My husband and I compare our life before the intervention of Novus to that of the apostles in the storm at sea. (Mark 4: 35-38).  Like the apostles we were frightened, confused, and weakened in our faith.  Peace, trust, respect, understanding, empathy, freedom from control, and authentic joy have been restored within our family.  My husband and I have grown and continue to grow in our Faith and are joyfully renewed and sustained through it. We can honestly attribute all of this to our involvement with Novus.  He awoke and rebuked the wind and said to the sea: “Quiet! Be Still!” The wind fell off and everything grew calm  ( Mark 4: 39)”’.
